Encountering issues, such as "something went wrong" or "sign in as x to finish the process" while trying to link your YouTube channel to our Google Ads account? Select the scenario that best matches your situation for tailored guidance:
- I Own and Have Access to My Channel
- Someone Else Has Access to the Channel
- The Channel Was Automatically Generated/Topic Channel
- "Link Request Not Found" Error
I Own and Have Access to My Channel
If you're the owner and have access but are facing errors, follow these steps:
- Check Current Account: Verify you're logged into the Google account that owns your YouTube channel.
- Switch Accounts: If you're logged into a different account, switch by clicking your profile icon and selecting the correct account.
- Retry Linking: Try the linking process again with the correct account.
- Use Incognito Mode: Still facing issues? Try using an incognito or private browsing window to log in and link.
Additional Notes:
- No Need for Account Matching: The Google account used doesn't have to match the one registered with Sprizzy, as long as it has access to the YouTube channel.
- Potential Reasons for Re-linking: Automatic unlinking after 90 days of inactivity or the need to link to another one of Sprizzy's Google Ads accounts.
Someone Else Has Access to the Channel
If you're not the owner but need to link a channel you have rights to:
- Obtain Linking URL: Click "link now" in your Sprizzy account, then on “Don’t have access to the channel?” to get the URL.
- Share with Owner: Provide the URL to the channel's owner and ask them to complete the linking process.
The Channel Was Automatically Generated/Topic Channel
For auto-generated "topic channels" by music distribution services:
- Limitations: These channels cannot be linked due to their automated nature.
- Recommended Action: Consider creating and using a personal YouTube channel for greater control and direct audience engagement.
Creating Your Own Channel: This offers several advantages, including personalized promotions and direct fan interactions. Upload your content directly to this channel for best results.
Proceeding Without Linking: You can still launch campaigns without linking your channel; however, personal channels offer added benefits for promotion.
"Link Request Not Found" Error
If your channel shows as "Linked" in your YouTube Studio, and Sprizzy shows a "Link request not found" error message, you will need to "Unlink" and then link the channel again.
- Log into your YouTube Studio.
- Navigate to Settings, then click Channel, followed by the Advanced settings tab.
- Scroll to "Google Ads account linking."
- Find "Sprizzy" and click Unlink.
- Confirm the unlinking and then Save your changes.
- Follow the instructions on Sprizzy to link your channel again.
